The Scarpa T2 Eco is the continuation of Scarpa’s very successful T2 line. The T2 is designed as an all around boot, suitable for inbounds and touring purposes. The T2 Eco updates the line with a special, environmentally friendly plastic shell. According to the tag, the plastic is made from renewable plant sources rather than petroleum. Really, though, it looks just like normal plastic.
I chose the T2 Eco over the Garmont Syner-g since it fit my foot better. Typically, Scarpa is for more narrow feet, but my feet are a very average ‘C’ width, so I could have gone either way. The T2’s just felt better to me, so I went with them. The shop baked them for me, and I was ready to ski.
Previously, I had only rented boots, and have never had a pair fitted perfectly to me. I have to say, the comfort and control I got from these boots was simply amazing. I’ve never felt as confident on my skis as I did with these boots. Touring is great as well, since the boots flex fairly well and aren’t too heavy.
In short, if the boot fits your foot, and you’re looking for a good do-it-all boot, the T2 Eco is certainly a good option.
